A day in the life

Hello! I swear I’m still here…just being a lackadaisical blogger during my summer vaca… I’m sure you all understand 🙂 Two things I’ve been doing to relax are light candles and reading. Right now I’m finishing up Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen

MOVING ON… I’ll give you a taste ( no pun intended HAHA) of the usual day in the life of ME …during an average week.

Wake up. Make Lunch and Breakfast. Get Dressed:

Drive to the internship.Breakfast TIME (favorite meal of the day!!!)

I got a new breakfast foooooood. so exciting ! haha

Morning work=  WRITE WRITE WRITE ( check out my new stuff!).

chick peas, pineapple salsa (EAT THIS!) , and raspberry dressing

THEN more writing writing writing. DONE at 4:00.

GYM! 45 mins elliptical and 20 mins bike

HOME. DINNER ( no pic) shrimp stir-fry and toast 

Tonight was special because I bought my ticket over to ENGLAND for December when I will be going to visit DAVE!! ( excited that I’m going…sad that he’s leaving to study abroad for a year)

ANYWAY I’ll be driving down to NC with Dave this weekend..soaking up every last minute of summer break…school seems like its right around the corner. I’ll be transferring to a whole new school….. oh jeeez

Now you can see why I’m relaxing as much as possible right now because I dive into a new life, new friends, new apartment, boyfriend gone, and school work in less than a month…. BUT I’m trying to look at this all in a positive light even it gets tough 😦 🙂 😦 🙂

Things have been very chill lately. Writing articles for basically daily 🙂 go to to see some of my schtuff !

Workouts have been goooooood. I’m really into this whole bring 5 million things to read while on the elliptical ….and I’d have to say it’s working ! Today I did the elliptical for about 1 hour then, abs.

Outfits, I love (and recommend you wear) YELLOW AND NAVY!

very sailor/beach-esk?

Last night for Dinner I made this:

Marinated tofu on greens with poppyseed dressing and honeyroasted sunflower seeds. DROOOOL

I marinated the tofu in a combination of honey-dijon mustard and greek dressing. SOUNDS WEIRD, I know. BUT it’s a delicious marinade for tofu, fish, and chicken (i’ve heard ;))

My dog is so cute!! BUT is very needy, such a diva (even though he’s a boy)

OH and I saw the last harry potter on thursday at 12:01!! haha WHO ELSE SAW IT ??

This is my backyard. My mom loves to garden and has made it soo beautiful !

This morning for breakfast I made something REALLLLLLY good and creative 😉

chocolate-pb-banana oatmeal (sans actual bananas!)

  • make oatmeal
  • add coco powder 🙂
  • add 1/2 a container of champions banana honey greek yogurt
  • top with pb

How many more random things can I tell you in this post…. lets see!!

I have a sinus infection from allergies, boo!

I have my orientation for UDEL on monday!!!!! (so nervous/excited)

I will be going up to my old overnight camp tomorrow (where I spent 8 summers of my life people!) to see all my old bunk mates…we all still talk and are still best friends!

I get to see Dave in less than 1 week…were going to cape cod. WOOT WOOT!

my friday OFF…

HELLO LOVES. Today was a glorious day. No, the weather wasn’t very good ( a.k.a torrential down pours all day) and no, I didn’t win a million dollars ( boo-hoo). BUT I did have a day off and I used it to my advantage 😉

Before we go on to my Friday lets rewind to Thursday.

the outfit:

The workout: 50 mins elliptical, 10 mins bike, then abs 😉 it was a good one

The dinner:

I HIGHLY recommend trying this combo!!


  • lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, cucumber ( or any salad veggies)
  • 5 crushed tortilla chips
  • 3 tablespoons ( or so) of pineapple salsa
  • 1/2 cup of chick peas
  • 3-5 shrimp (cut up)
  • balsamic or italian dressing to taste

I woke to find my new article up on RODALE.COM. Then, came downstairs and watched the TODAY SHOW! ( obsessed but can only watch it on Friday’s 😦 sigh)

I made my VERY first..S.I.A.B: 1/2 a frozen banana, frozen pomegranate and acai berries, 1 container of plain greek yogurt, 1 tsp of vanilla, 2 tbsp of oats, and ice

this newbie needs help: How can I make my smoothie’s  consistency less “icey and chunky” and more smooth ?? Anything besides xanthan gum?

During the day today I did tons of ACTIVITIES!! ( in Step Brothers style)

I blogged, read through old magazines and ripped out pictures and recipes, read my book, and of course chilled with MR. B

I FINALLY assembled a book of the magazine pictures, fashion looks, and recipes I’ve been collecting all year! It came out looking real good..yay organization! haha

I went to the gym and  did: a simple 45 on the elliptical QUITE intense..if i do say so myself. I usually just stick to elliptical, bike, and spinning class for my workouts. I realized why never get bored: I always switch up music and resistance each time 🙂

Dinner was different than my usual combos (FINALLY haha)

tuna with dijon mustard on salad  and a buttered up sweet potato.

Dessert: (not shown) white chocolate and chocolate pudding with cool whip and crushed pretzles….. PLEASE TRY THIS COMBO! haha it’s amazing

My summer’s been treating me REALLY well so far. Mainly because I’ve been RELAXING and doing what I want to do with my free time.  At school this past year I spent so much of my  time stressing out (ALOT) and dealing with some tough stuff. I’m happy to say that I’m finally feeling the way your SUPPOSED to feel on summer vacation. STRESS FREE! I’ll have plenty of time to stress in 2ish months when it’s back to UDEL I go 😉

Benji is a sleeper. I think I’ve been following his lead since I’ve napped more in the past few days than I ever have before!! … Except for Monday and Today ( and the rest of the work week) when 7:05 AM is my wake up call.  LUCKY DOG.

Lets start with “fashion” of the week so far ( yes the quotes are totally necessary)




  • skipped monday ( did weights and crunches  in my room 😉 )
  • Today I did 45 on the elliptical and 17 on the bike. WOOP WOOP!
For my meals and snacks during the day…lets play a game shall we??
Anyway…my dinners have been rediculously boring and random so I decided to save you the eye-sore and skip the pictures until they shape up 😉 I’m so busy everyday at my internship but it’s starting to pay off……..

in a nutshell.


This weekend was very busy/ relaxing at the same time. (?) Friday I lounged around, went to the gym and eat good food ( of course) . Saturday I hung out and went to an art show! Today I went to the gym in the morning then to a fathers day brunch, took a long nap, then went shopping and bought food for the week and for a fathers day bbq with me, my mom and dad. I also slept alot because I mayy be getting sick and/or just not sleeping enough, and I ate lots of chobani. haha what a life :  THAT WAS MY WEEKEND IN A NUTSHELL. 

Here are my weekend favorites 🙂

#1 breakfast. chocolate pb oatmeal. 

#1 snack ( must have had this every day this week) I bought organic apples today! it’s totally worth the extra 2 bucks in my opinion 😉

#1 dinner. Got lots of good stuff at the Wegmans salad bar. Who has a wegmans near them???? ISN’T IT AMAZING!

#1 grill food. SALMON KABOBS!!! That was tonight’s dinner. Plus sweet corn on the cobb and shrimp. YUMMM

AND last but not least…THE one the only…


welp gotta get ready for another week as an intern at rodale 🙂 I’m still loving it so thats a good sign! haha

ThE DiRtY DoZeN!!

….. Who knows what the dirty dozen is??? I DO! I’ve been doing alot of reading about organic food and pesticides. WELLLLL the 2011 “dirty dozen”  recently has been released…. guess which is number 1 on the list of foods with the most pesticides and residue.

APPLES: the staple of my day. looks like I’m going to start convincing my family to go organic with AT LEAST apples.

What foods do you buy organic??

I got bored in the morning . I actually had EXTRA time which of course I wasn’t going to spend going into work super early. duhhh

haha okay well enough of THAT.

After driving into work, and only have ONE ,yes ONE cup of coffee, I had some of this ( and no it’s not ground meat haha)

I did some work and what not, but was still soooooo hungry. sSo I ate half of my afternoon snack. a downside of switching things up

LUNCH TIME!! I eat with all the other interns and we are starting to become friends, which is nice in an office building of intimidating professionals. 😉

After the internship I went to Wednesday SPIN CLASS! It was a hard one but I love it…I admit IM ADDICTED and glad I switched up my work out this week finally 🙂Dinner was boring : sweet potato, chick peas, veggies, bread… blehhh

WELP off to hang and eat dessert and relax , after all ITS SUMMER VACATION :)!!

Replay Replay

Hello everyone! My last two days (today and yesterday) were basically played out like a broken record …...but not in a bad way!!

 Same morning outfit shot 



Same Breakfast ( chobani, cereal and blueBs)  with black coffee x2. I’m planning on changing that to JUST ONE CUP starting tomorrow. I SWEAR!!!! haha.. I’ll sub the second cup with tea…we’ll see how long this sticks.

today I had vanilla chobani (0o0o0o0o0o0o ahhhhhhhhh)

Fiber one cereal is the standard old-person-cereal, I know, BUT I highly recommend this combo…ITS SO GOOD! Leave it in the bag while your driving to work and the cereal picks up the blueberry taste 😉

During the day, I’ve been LOVING my internship. I do research on various topics such as green living, organic eating, and health! I’m also learning alot. YES it’s a desk job (don’t get me wrong)…but I like learning new things 🙂

Mid-day  consists of eating some snacks and going on with my work and research projects ( same snacks both days *GASP*)

after work BOTH DAYS I went to the gym and did:

  • elliptical
  • bike 
  • today abs
  • yesterday arms
THE ONLY THING THAT I DID DIFFERENTLY BOTH NIGHTS…was dinner! which of course I don’t have pictures of 🙂 I’ll get on that for the rest of the week haha…and I had chocolate pudding for dessert with cool whip both nights. I’m not complaining about any of this…I guess I’m a creature of habit. 
HOWEVER, I get bored easily.
Do I plan to switch up the menu tomorrow??…. HECK YES 😉
I ALSO finished the book SARAH’S KEY
My review: I HIGHLY recommend reading this book. It’s about the Holocaust in France. The story straddles between the past and future but by the end they converge! I could not put this book down. It’s very powerful and the way the author writes is very captivating.
What do you do to keep your days interesting and less mundane? Do you like a set schedule ( i.e food, workouts, dinner, nighttime stuff) everyday?
