WHOSE BLOG IS THIS ANYWAY?
My name is Brittany and I am a 20 year old Dietetics student at the University of Delaware. I’m originally from Pennsylvania. My hobbies include singing, writing songs, and playing the guitar. My passions are nutrition and fitness.
In the past…
I feel like I’ve lived a good portion of my life worrying about my weight. Like most girls, as I grew into my teenage years I started to focus more and more on weight related things. For me, it was fitting into those freakin’ Hollister jeans. I always felt like in the back of my mind there was this aching to be thin and to be “perfect”, because I thought that would be the answer to my problems in life.
Back then, I used music to cope with my teenage angsty feelings.
Growing up with this need to be skinny was never easy. I was fighting my body and my mind on so many levels rather than just loving myself for who I am, and loving my body for all that it is and all that it can do.
FINALLY about a year ago, I decided to turn things around for good. This is what I looked like last December…
I wanted to turn my “obsession” into an interest, to look at food and health in a fresh new way. I wanted to learn to love myself while being healthy, but most importantly just enjoy living life.
After sifting through all the nonsense placed in my head over the years, some from crazy fitness magazines, a few from actual science classes at school, and even more from the media and the millions of books out there on diet and exercise “answers”.
I decided that I was going to make my own health plan.
I’ve come into a new era in my life where eating healthy and being active is a want to and not a have to. As a hard working girl in college, I’ve turned “ will power into want power” ( cheesy, I know)
I love food. I have an interest in food and I love to combine new and interesting HEALTHY things. I also love to exercise. I never exercise to loose weight but I do it because it makes me feel good about myself and feel good inside my body.
Now, where does blogging fit into all of this?
I’ve been motivated to be fit and ALSO have fun and do well in college. It is possible, and it’s really not that hard if you know the right things to do that work for your lifestyle.

I also realize that I was not alone in my struggles as a young girl AND there are a lot of women out there who are going through, now, what I was going through not too long ago.
I want to share all of the knowledge I’ve gained about how to live a healthier and happier life while at school, home, or anywhere you may be!
I try to incorporate healthy living into my life every single day. It makes me feel happy, alive, and whole.
OKAY.. WHAT IS SHE GONNA BLOG ABOUT????
Well, I’d like to share some of my tips, ideas and daily life issues with the world. I feel like the way that I live my life as a fit college girl might be inspiring, or at least entertaining to all of you reading this.
I’m not saying that I have all of the answers yet or that I’ve reached some unknown “goal”. BUT, I’ve started on this journey and I hope to continue on it throughout my life.
